Boundary Awareness Training

This is a gentle reminder that all clergy within the Association are required to participate in Boundary Awareness Training by August 30, 2011.  Participation in Boundary Awareness Training is a requirement for maintaining ministerial standing in the Central Atlantic Conference and the Potomac Association – thus in the United Church of Christ.  The Committee will need to evaluate the clergy standing of all who have not participated in the training.

This program was established with the goal of providing all clergy with tools to maintain the integrity of ministerial relationships and to protect vulnerable persons with whom local church clergy and other ordained ministers interact in their professional capacities.  This includes Interim Ministers, Retired Ministers and others serving in specialized ministries.  The training will enable clergy to more readily identify potentially unethical conduct, abusive situations, and importance of self-care within all ministerial relationships.

 

If you have not had this training, we encourage you to please sign up for the next event to be presented on March 28 and March 29, 2011 at Lincoln Congregational Temple UCC located at 1701 11th Street NW in Washington DC.   The sessions run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.  Attendance is required on both days.  We cannot award a certificate of completion for anyone who, in the judgment of the instructors, has not fulfilled the two-day attendance requirement.

Please prepay.  Checks should be made payable to the Central Atlantic Conference for $55.00 which includes all meals (breakfast snack & lunch) as well as registration and workbooks for each participant.

 

We are fully aware that some persons have requested weekend training because of their place of employment.  We are planning a training for 2 successive Saturdays in the near future. We will let you know the dates and location at the earliest date possible.
