Workshop, March & May 2011 Conflict Resolution

Have you longed to be a part of God’s beloved community of love, healing and cooperation?

Come join us as we learn how you and your congregation can become a spiritually nourishing and healing place for you and others.

Learn techniques for your own personal growth in peacemaking.

Our facilitator for both workshops is Reverend Dr. Al Fuertes, an internationally known pastor and peacemaker active in the Philippines and other countries. Currently Dr. Fuertes is a professor at George Mason University in the field of conflict analysis, resolution and transformation. You will enjoy his depth of knowledge, wisdom and gentle good humor as he actively engages you in the art of healing and reconciliation.

This workshop will introduce participants to an understanding of conflict, its nature and dimensions. A holistic understanding of conflict lays the groundwork for resolution and transformation of individuals and communities. Participants will be guided in knowing some of the best interventions and tools to practice peacebuilding, healing and transformation in their faith community and congregational settings.

Potomac Ministerium

February’s gathering will be held at Bethe UCC-Arlington, VA with lunch provided (Thank you Kristen Curlee and Carolyn Richar!).

We will be joined by several of our UCC colleagues who work with Capital Hospice.  We will encounter the depth and breadth of their work, and how we can be partners in their ministry among us and with us. Thank you, Carolyn Richar and Francine Vinson, for sharing your ministry with us.

Please rsvp to hank@rockspringucc.org by Monday morning so we can ensure lunch for all.

Bethel UCC is located at the corner of Arlington Blvd (US-50) and George Mason Drive.  Parking is available at the American Red Cross (immediately east of the church; follow the signs).
